Posts for Nat Soo Pah and Brian & Rachel's visit are still on deck . . . .
someday after I finish painting, hosting a Scentsy party, cutting the boys' hair, balancing my checkbook, and all the other kids, house, and church calling stuff that falls in between . . . .
But for now, something inspiring, and somewhat fitting since I am a September birthday too. :)

I always enjoy a good reminder to be grateful for the simple things, the things we take for granted because they are just there.
A while back ago we encouraged the kids to include more items of gratitude on their prayers, rather than a prayer full of asking for things; and to try to think of new and different things to say, rather than repeating the same prayer each day. They have really taken this to heart, and make sure to thank Heavenly Father for just about everything. Today I heard, "thank thee for the mirrors that we can look into," and "thank thee for the grass to sit on." Conner is REALLY taking the challenge to heart and feels that he must not repeat an expression of gratitude. ever. Quite often at the end of a prayer he'll say in exasperation, "I'm running out of things to say!" To which we tell him, just start over and thank Heavenly Father again.
But truly, do we (or should we) ever run out of things to be grateful for? I have to think that we all have pretty long lists, even if it takes a little work & observation on our part to find them.
Okay, off to paint.
