For once the tables have turned and WE had some rain yesterday. I followed the forecast all week and wondered what their definition of "rain" would be. Sprinkles, a misting, little showers. Nope. The heavens opened around 4:30 and we got dumped on. I can see why they build canals for the rain run-off and why there is a danger for flash floods. Our parking lot was a river within an hour.
We were grocery shopping when the rain began so it was all kinds of fun to run through the parking lot & load our groceries in the van. It was even more fun to tote all those bags of groceries up a stairway and through a waterfall to our apartment (the raingutters outside the door - not so great, and no way around it.)
I'm reminded of our moving day (just 12 days ago). Other than a dusting of snow in the morning, the day was absolutely gorgeous! Sun! Blue skies!
What a gift.
And as my friend Paige pointed out, the glorious weather will help me want to come back to visit instead of thinking "I am SO glad to be leaving the cold, drizzly grey!"
I took a break from the moving action and drove downtown to pay some bills and take in the views one last time.
That night we went to dinner at Burgerville. Our last meal at Burgerville! I'll miss their milkshakes, the Tillamook cheeseburger, the Gold Yukon Waffle fries, mmmm.
I glanced over to the boys, sitting at a table by themselves, and captured this little gem. Enjoy!
