This weekend Scott walked in graduation ceremonies at BYU and officially received his Masters of Business Administration!
The kids asked, "do we have to call you 'master' now?"
It was a good weekend for our family. Now, if Scott had his choice we wouldn't have attended graduation (never-mind BOTH commencement and convocation). But I insisted that we needed to do this for the kids. To see your dad graduate from a major university with an advanced degree doesn't happen everyday. Plus, we're always looking for ways to further indoctrinate our kids on the importance of going to college.
12 years ago we stood near this very same spot to take photos of the two of us on graduation day.
Each of the kids took a turn trying on Scott's cap.
Oh, the hood. This provided some fun entertainment. After reading the "proper wearing of the hood" instructions, we were sure we were not smart enough to figure it out. But it turns out they make it sound way more difficult than it really is. (The Pokeman tail is also a nice touch.)
We went to the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni Building to check it out and happened upon a "Meet the President" meet and greet. So, we took our picture with President and Sister Samuelson. Why not?
Convocation on Friday -- Scott makes his way across the podium. I love that a few of his favorite professors were in the receiving line. They got hugs. Burt Jackson and Monte Swain.
Scott's parents also drove down for the ceremony.
Future BYU Cougars.
We're proud of Scott for this accomplishment. Two months ago he turned to me and asked if I had any interest in going back to school. No thank you! (But it was very considerate of him to ask, acknowledging that it could be "my turn"). I'm so thankful that I have an ambitious, smart, and hard-working husband who takes good care of us. We are definitely blessed!
