(Photo taken during our video chat on Friday, March 20th when Conner shared the news that he -- along with all non-Japanese missionaries -- will be leaving Japan)
From: Conner BrownTo: Payton and AnnaSubject: To the people I will literally see in a few daysYeah, I considered not writing this because we'll be face to face in a bit, but why not, right? Also, I would like to talk a bit about my experience when I did get the notice that we were leaving. Before we had the big meeting about what was going to happen, I honestly expected that we in sanitary Japan would just wait this thing out. When the Mission President told us in the zoom meeting that we were leaving, I can't remember my initial reaction. I just know it didn't effect me emotionally very much. As in every single experience of my life, my thoughts are "Well, this is happening", and thats it. We are a pretty chill family, good at rolling with the punches. But, there's another reason I am really so calm with these things.Throughout all my life I have recognized that whenever I am doing what I am supposed to be doing, everything always works out in the end. That is one of the things I love most about the gospel. The Lord's blessings are limited only by our personal worthiness, actions, and faith. If we trust him and are doing all things in our power to be faithful, we literally don't have to worry about what is to come. What will happen will happen, and it will always be for our benefit.Gotta finish quick while we have church wifi, but愛しています!Elder Brown
