first things first -- here are the kiddos.
According to Conner's vote, Halloween is the best day of the year. The kids had so much fun and were so so excited about their costumes.
My favorite part of the day came while trick-or-treating on our street. The kids rang the door bell, said "trick-or-treat" with their usual giddiness, and the nice lady stooped down to drop candy into their bags and admire their cute costumes. As they turned to walk down the stairs, the neighbor (still crouched down) watched them with a smile on her face and said to me, "By far, these are the happiest kids I have seen tonight." I just had to smile and say, "Thanks. I know."
A fun and full day. First there was the pre-school Halloween party for 38 4-year-olds that I was put in charge of: Thanks to the help of many, many moms everything went off without a hitch.
A cute little ice cream shop in town was offering free ice cream cones to kids in their costumes and we could not resist:
And how about this cute item on the menu. Click on the photo for a larger view. I just might need to make another visit to partake of this deliciousness.
Free cookie dough at Papa Murphy's.
Several people asked me what I was dressed as -- nothing in particular. Just grabbed a few items from my dress-up box (including the orange & black striped tights I'm wearing under my wool gaucho pants that are just out of photo's view). But when we got home Scott pinpointed it: English Street Urchin.
Finally, trick-or-treating on our street and watching the kids go bonkers as they handed out candy at home. Send the kids to bed. Crash on the couch myself and wake up at 11pm to stagger off to my bed.
Happy Halloween!
