the table
I made these cute little pine cone turkeys for each place setting. Very cute & easy craft project.
the menu
Same as last year. With the addition of some ultra gourmet jell-o. Oh and I used this recipe for the turkey -- over 700 five-star ratings gave me the feeling that it might be a good one. And it was delicious. The drippings from the turkey made the best gravy.
the guests
Mom, dad, Kent and Becca. Dennis, Valerie, & Randy arrived later in the day.
question of the day
"Want to see my pink room?" Anna managed to get someone up to her pink room about 20 times that day. Good thing we had plenty of family around to humor her requests.
entertainment

snacking
lots of snacking. Shrimp cocktail, a cheese ball, ginger snap cookies, celery & PB. Anna set up a permanent residence on the kitchen island right next to the crackers. Only leaving when she needed to show someone her pink room.
exercise
Shaking the homemade butter.
thankful
"Both abundance and lack [of abundance] exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend . . . when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present - love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us [happiness] - the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth." -author, Sarah Ban Breathnach
