The theme for our Primary Leadership meeting last night was taken from a recent General Conference talk titled "Teaching Helps Save Lives." Then we took the idea of "saving lives" and threw in a fun Superhero twist. Just look at these adorable thank-you handouts that my counselor, Tamera, made for all the teachers.
SO CUTE! It shouldn't surprise me though, because she is the queen of cuteness.
Additionally, we titled our meeting "30 Minutes and a Treat". We thought that if we let the teachers know it was only going to last 30 minutes, no longer, then that would draw more people out. And we made it within the time limit (almost). 35 minutes isn't too bad?
Tamera also presented some of the business (reminders to teachers about finding subs, being prepared for your lessons, etc. etc.) and did it in the cutest way to keep it positive and upbeat. She said it was time to "clean the bat cave" and shared things that can add an extra Zap! to Primary, and other things that can be Kryptonite to Primary. I know, so cute.
I taught a lesson on the conference talk I mentioned above. And Jodi led a brainstorming/buzz session where the teachers could share ideas, what works for them, etc. It was great and could have gone much longer, but . . . . we had a schedule & our word to uphold!
The treat? Feast your eyes on this . . . .

Devil's Food cake, chocolate pudding, cool whip, Heath Bars and that's it. Get the recipe here.
Everything turned out great. We had a good turnout and I think people were appreciative of the 30 minutes time limit. It's times like these that make me feel so glad about the opportunities I have to serve in the church, the wonderful people I get to rub shoulders with, and the way we all work together towards a common goal.
A piece of sunshine on an otherwise rainy day.
