Okay, now for the party. This was the ultimate in girly garden parties.
We were pampered, we enjoyed the sunshine filtered through silk parasols, we partook of fancy cheese & crackers, we listened to harp melodies . . .
We played a casual game of croquet and then sat under the trees for birds' nest tic tac toe . . .
We paddle-boated on the lake and lounged on quilts spread out on the grass like something straight out of Anne of Green Gables . . .
We visited the garden to eat fresh veggies and the pool to dip our toes . . .
We enjoyed a very girly lunch and we were treated to lovely music about the flowers courtesy of Paige . . . {and we're pretty sure "smuckt" and "nard" are not swear words}
And when it was all said and done we cleaned up tables and dishes for 75 and were happy to be a part of it.
And now for the photos . . .
And I can't end this post without a special mention to my mom.
She is amazing.
To whip this kind of event together with such style, beauty, and thought into every detail . . .
To be prepared and have enough of a handle on things that she, too, could enjoy the party . . .
To spoil me and my friends in the middle of a week when she has a million other things on her to do list . .
To hear people tell me over and over again what a wonderful hostess/designer/woman she is . . .
I am pretty lucky to have her.
Thank you for a great weekend, and know you'll always have a van full of helpers if you ever need it.
