Following day one of Scott's 2-day graduation ceremonies last month, Anna asked, "Tomorrow are they going to do it the old-fashioned way? Like, when they throw their hats up into the air?"
What a cute girl. And yes, they did do it the old-fashioned way -- just for a photo.
Since then . . . "the old-fashioned way" keeps popping up in the kids' conversations. I have come to learn that there are a lot of things you can do the old-fashioned way.
For example,
diving at the pool
throwing away trash at Chipotle
graduating from college
going down the pipe in Super Mario
making a sandwich
practicing your 4's multiplication table
combing your hair
and, galloping.
Here's Anna to show you how.

FYI, Payton did get in trouble. He feels really bad for his lapse in judgement. The next day when I showed the video to Scott I was laughing/crying so badly I couldn't control myself. So . . . we did what any good parent would do. We submitted this video to America's Funniest Home Videos. (It is our kids' dream to get onto that show. And wipeout.)
