FRIDAY - Sea World!!
This was a great way to break up our trip. Sea World is much smaller, calmer, and just moves at a slower pace. But still pretty darn fun.
Of course there was Shamu
We attended 2 shows. This was the educational show that left most attendees dry.
Plenty of sea life to pet. But Anna was sad she didn't get to touch a dolphin -- too many people were crowded around the dolphin tank.
I loved the sea turtles
Beluga whale // Polar Bear eating something off the glass right in front of Anna's face.
We watched the seal & otter show - lots of silly laughs.
Payton found his souvenir - a Shamu snow globe.
And then it was time for Shamu show #2. This is the one where people get wet. So, of course, we sat here
We sat in the 6th row. Conner and Anna sat in the first row. Just before the show started Scott forked out 8 bucks to buy us a poncho. Which was a very good thing because the people in front of us were absolutely drenched.
So was Conner
He enjoyed the show but I don't think he liked our last minute switcheroo. He was hoping to walk up those stairs and find us dripping wet.
So we decided to go on Shipwreck Rapids to make it up to him. Our thoroughly soaked family photo
See that roller coaster behind us? The Manta. I went on that roller coaster. Yep, me, the girl who doesn't do roller coasters. Everyone was pretty shocked when I willingly chose to ride. I had spent all day checking it out -- no loops, no big drops, just a little right to left twisting/turning action. It was actually pretty fun. And they all proceeded to tell me how much more intense the Manta was than California Screamin' (a ride I had avoided the previous 2 days). So I began to consider giving it a try. Keep reading to see how that one turns out.
