Cleaning the pool. I took care of this job on Monday. I am the pool guy. Apparently we are in the minority on this one. Growing up my mom or brothers always cleaned the pool. Today, my parents still clean their own pool. It would never cross my mind to hire a pool guy. Sure it's a job that takes time, but it's simple enough to do. Plus, we've got children (i.e. slave labor). In this day and age our kids need more opportunities to work. Not fewer.
Painting like mad woman. I should be doing that right now, but I decided to take a short break this morning before going back at it. When I'm done the family room is going to look marvelous!
Walking to school and loving the weather. It was a gorgeous morning today. Sunny. More than sunny, though . . . . golden. (Or maybe that was simply the view behind my sunglasses). Windy too, which is typical for the spring here (March-April)
Enjoying the spring blossoms. I'm glad we have neighbors on our street who planted flowering plum trees for us all to enjoy.
Contemplating a big anniversary that is coming up this week. And getting a little teary about it.
Dreaming of beautiful plants in my yard . . . . someday. For now we are spending time each Saturday ripping out the dead / ugly ones. The yard needs a complete overhaul. With spring upon us I find myself missing my hydrangea bushes, tulips, daffodils, my lilac tree, blueberry plants, lavender, the spring crocus (which should be blooming right now), and peonies. Oh, the peonies!
I think that picking up a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store is going to be a regular occurrence.
