After a long morning of cleaning (I always torture my kids like that on the first day of a school break), we finally made it out of the house for our first experience at an indoor trampoline center.
The verdict? Two thumbs up.
The kids loved it. Especially the dodgeball arena and the foam pit. The camera on my phone didn't like the lighting so much, but provided some cool effects like this:
We paid for just 60 minutes of jumping, which was just right for us. We left with all the kids looking or feeling like this,
Ha, ha, ha. This girl sure knows how to wear herself out. I decided that we all needed a pick-me-up so we went in search of a treat and found this.
Isn't that the best logo ever? Ice * Custard * Happiness
And, this place was great. We've had custard several times since moving here (Mr. D's Custard, Nielsen's Custard, Freddy's Custard, and now Rita's -- it's a popular treat). But with the combination of Italian Ice . . . it was simply divine! I ordered a Blentini -- layers of vanilla custard and mango Italian ice. Conner got the Swedish Fish Italian Ice. And both Payton and Anna ordered vanilla custard. Anna took one bite and promptly declared that she hated it because it didn't taste like vanilla and then whined about it all the way out to the car. Oh how quickly she turns into a monster when she is tired and/or hot.
So we went to the park! The weather is really nice these days and we need to take advantage of it before the days get too hot. Anna joined in on a game of drip-drip-splash (a version of duck-duck-goose that replaces patting heads around the circle with pouring water on heads from a water bottle). Hey, if it means she isn't grumpy-hot anymore, I'm all for it!
Later, for dinner: Beef fried rice, veggies, strawberries, wedge salad with Asian dressing
Then for Family Home Evening we did this lesson. It's intended to be an Easter countdown, but we just go through the whole thing (12 eggs) in one sitting. I put it together a year or two ago and now we just keep the eggs inside our box of easter decorations and pull it out for an automatic FHE lesson.
FHE Treat. Super simple bird nests. Melt 3 Tbsp butter, stir in 4 cups mini marshmallows, and add 1 bag of crunchy chow mein noodles. Shape into nests. Prepare to get sticky.
As we ate our treats and watched a BYU basketball game I taught Anna how to massage my feet. Oh boy, this girl is hired! And she loved doing it too. I call this a win-win.
