It's time for an activity that gets us outdoors!
We spent the day checking out Bonnie Springs Ranch -- an old west town and petting zoo in Red Rock Canyon. We watched a hanging, pet some goats & deer that nibbled on each of our t-shirts, rode a train, and purchased cold sarsaparilla from the saloon.
There are many more photos, but I'll share some of them in another post.
It was our special day out so on the way home we went to Red Robin for dessert. The kids ordered milkshakes and I got the Mile High Mud Pie. The last time I ate this dessert was on a girls' night out. It's the kind of dessert that is meant to be shared so I invited the kids to help me finish it.
I don't know what it was but we are all exhausted by the time we got home. I announced that I was going up to my room to lay on my bed and watch The Princess Bride and anyone was welcome to join me. Anna took me up on the offer.
Can I just tell you that I am loving 7 right now? Well, most of the time. She is so sweet and loving and talkative and creative and fun. I just find myself smiling and so happy that am blessed with the experience of having a daughter. Coming from a family of all boys (and marrying into a family of all boys) I figured my family would also be all boys. I hoped for a girl, but didn't set my heart on it.
I am so glad that I got her.
Later . . . we ate leftovers for dinner. The kids watched Star Wars Episode 5. And Scott came home late (9-ish) after a work event. We tucked the kids into bed and had a nice couple's evening discussing plans, what-ifs, dreams, and somedays.
