There's nothing like good chocolate.
Saturday night Scott and I went on a date to Max Brenner. I love this place! This was our second visit (see the first date here) and we kept with the same routine -- dessert, dinner, dessert. With desserts this good, seriously it's the only way to go!
I highly recommend the churro fondue. It makes a great appetizer. ;)
The fondue dishes are adorable! We actually have two sets in our cupboards. // Their chocolate is finger-lickin' good.
Now, Max Brenner is mostly known for their chocolate -- but their food is pretty darn good too. I tried the macaroni & cheese tonight and it was so so good (+ bacon + fresh marinara + tomatoes + a little breaded crispiness on top). I will definitely get it again. It's easily big enough to split with someone.
See those blocks resting on the ledge above our heads? That would be solid chocolate.
The only negative part of the restaurant would be their glasses. They are so small, and Scott was in constant need of a Diet Pepsi refill. See?
For second dessert we had the banana waffle
Now that I've had both of these desserts twice (and they are delicious) I think I need to branch out next time. I really want to try their hot chocolate (but not in July) and sometime I'll have to sample a salted caramel milkshake.
For the rest of our date we wandered around the Forum Shops, visiting the Apple Store
And admiring the high-fashion window displays all the while wondering if people really shop there. So much $$$$! I especially loved this window at Louis Vuitton
Next time we have some family or friends come to town, we'll need to visit Max Brenner again with the adults. Serendipity is great for the family & kids, but this is a place that the adults will really appreciate.
