obsessing . . . . over the golden morning sunlight and all the opportunities for awesome sun-flare
enjoying . . . our morning walks to school. I love this quiet one-on-one time with Payton & Anna. It is starting to get a bit nippy in the morning (50 degrees) but not cold enough yet to make the kids switch to pants.
running . . . for 20 minutes without stopping. Don't laugh, but that is huge for me!! I just finished week 5 of Couch to 5K and it just about kicked my butt. I am not a runner, but I have seen more changes/toning in my body in the last 5 weeks than I have with any other exercise program that I have tried.
drooling . . . over our family photo session sneak peak. Our session went SO well. It was early (7:15am) and a little chilly, but it was perfect. I can't wait to see the rest! The location we went to was pretty amazing -- a teeny town (if you can even call it that) named Nelson. A couple there owns a few buildings/barns on some old mining land and they have just collected all this old stuff and scattered it around the property -- old cars, buses, gas pumps, signs, bathtubs, a piano, etc. A photographer's heaven. Speaking of photographers, check out ours HERE. She was great!
I felt like we were in Radiator Springs
relieved . . . that I finally zapped the algae issue in our pool. It has been an especially bad season for pool algae (so I hear) and it has been driving me crazy for weeks! It's just gross and brushing/scrubbing the sides of the pool (daily) is a lot of work.
shuttling . . . Conner to and from choir rehearsals. He is singing with the Middle School District Honors Choir this month and so far they have only rehearsed once a week. Next week, though, is going to be a doozy as they prep for the final performance (a total of 11 hours). He has really enjoyed the fast pace of the rehearsals and learning new songs including one in Hebrew.
sewing . . . a fox costume for Anna. Ring-ding-ding! I found this costume on pinterest for my inspiration.
realizing . . . that in a little over 3 months we will no longer be in the Cub Scout program - wow! We've been Cub Scoutin' since 2008. Payton was awarded his Webelos badge this week and is so close to earning his Arrow of Light. He is loving scouts, like really loving scouts, and that makes me so happy.
craving . . . pizza from Settebello. My new favorite restaurant. Seriously, I dream about this place. Wanna meet me for lunch?
wishing . . . I had taken a picture of Scott and Anna in their matching karate outfits for the Father-Daughter Halloween Party. But Scott tells me that the leaders took a photo there. Anna now gets to attend Activity Days (a twice-a-month activity, held during the week for girls ages 8-11 at church) and she is over the moon excited about it. This week, because she was new, she got to bring a brown paper bag with 7 items that represent her and the things she likes. I've had reports from at least 2 people that her "performance" was cute -- put that girl in front of a group of people and everything becomes a performance. They specifically noted the part when she pulled out a hair brush and said, "I like, to brush, my hair" in one of her super-girly voices. Way to ham it up, girl.
