Another October. Another Halloween!
There was the costume parade at school
Then I hung around a little while for the 5th grade party
It may look simple, but Payton was thrilled with his Bionic Bolt Boy costume.
Anna loved all the attention she got for her fox costume.
All together now. Going on year 3 for Bionic Booger Boy . . . I figured he didn't need a 3rd set of individual photos. Plus, this was the year he aged-out of trick-or-treating in our family.
But I did get some shots of the Bionic Boys. They were lamenting that we didn't have a 3rd boy in the family because he would be perfect as Bionic Blaze Boy in orange. Anna's orange fox is pretty close, right?
For dinner I made a mummy meatloaf. I got the idea from Sheila, and I'm pretty sure she got the idea from Pinterest. The kids loved it.
We carved our pumpkins just in the nick of time - 1 or 2 days before Halloween. Payton's skull is on the left and that's Anna's on the right.
Conner decided to go original and created a Trogdor pumpkin.
Anna brought this home from her class party - I thought it was so cute. (the black paint had started to rub off)
Then there was trick-or-treating. We were joined by our neighbor's grand-daughter. She and Anna play together a lot.
We only walked around our gated neighborhood and there were a lot of lights out, but still I was shocked by how much candy the kids got! This is their haul from the trunk-or-treat (wednesday night) and trick-or-treating (thursday night) combined. (We had the LED disco light going -- hence, the random green lights.)
In addition to this WE have a ton of candy leftover . . . . I think we got maybe 40-50 trick-or-treaters at our door. This week the school is particpating in a candy donation drive for the troops . . . we will definitely be donating to the cause! I have been a frequent partaker of the halloween candy the last 2 weeks and I can honestly say that at this point I am a little sick of chocolate. I won't feel bad at all letting it go.
HERE is a 15 second instgram slideshow of our day.
