I love these piano playing boys.
Last weekend they both played in the Junior Piano Festival and did fantastic! This was Payton's first year participating and Conner's second. They have been practicing their pieces since November -- a lot of work, repetition, and memorization. So I was so pleased when they both received a rating of Superior!
Some of the judges written comments for Payton: Strong legato & staccatos! Beautiful touch throughout.
and for Conner: Your accurate tempo & dynamics were rereshing! Great continuity between hands.
Here is a video of them playing their songs for me at home:
Like I said, I love hearing them play the piano. Conner was recently called to be the Priesthood Accompanist at church. That means he plays an opening hymn for ALL the men (ages 12 and up) to sing to as they begin their meetings. What a great opportunity for him!
