Because of Him I can be a better daughter.
I was certainly blessed with wonderful parents who have taught, encouraged, and loved me. Through Christ I am reminded that I can always be better, give more, and love more fully as I try to show my gratitude for the blessing of a family and all that they have done for me.
Because of Him I can serve others.
We went to the Mormon Fort State Park and discovered that there was an entrance fee of $1 for adults (13 and up). CASH only. I had 17 cents on me. Argh! As we turned away to leave, a kind man stopped us and handed me some cash to pay for our admission. This act of service totally made my day and reminds me that there are SO many small and simple ways to serve others. $2 was not that much for him to give, but it meant so much to me. Christ gave us everything and all he asks is that we folow Him and serve others along the way.
Because of Him I can love more fully.
My heart is right here.
Because of Him I can be a better me.
Each day I make mistakes -- I'm impatient, I judge, I yell, or I'm just plain grumpy! But because of Him I know that I can repent and try to be a little bit better the next day. It's a daily challenge, constant effort -- but I have hope and faith that Christ is there to strengthen me and fill in the gaps when I fall short. "Nevertheless, the Lord showeth us our weakness that we may know that it is by grace . . . that we have power to do these things." Jacob 4:7, Book of Mormon
Because of Him I live in this beautiful world.

Because of Him I am inspired.
Our family reads the scriptures each morning and we have one more chapter left (!) in the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Christ. It's always exciting when we finish. But you know what? The next day we start all over again from the beginning! Why? Because we know we need the daily teaching and inspiration in our lives. Always.
Because of Him I can get answers to prayers.
From the time I was 7 years old and I lost my glasses at the park . . . . to age 18 - wanting to know if Scott was the right person to marry . . . . to age 28 - trying to understand why we weren't able to have the baby #4 we had hoped for . . . . to just this month when we needed renters for our Oregon home . . . and everything in between, big and small, I know that He hears me and answers me.

This week I have followed a daily photo prompt (#becauseofhim) on my instagram account. It has been an eye-opening and spiritual experience for me as I have been reminded of so many things -- all I that I have, all that I am blessed with, the abundance of opportunities, joy, love, and all that is possible because of Him.
Happy Easter, friends!
