It is Day One of spring break! Even though I am finishing up the laundry from a sick child last night (she's feeling much better now), we are excited and ready for a week of freedom. I feel like it's been a long time coming as I've watched friends and family enjoy their breaks for the past month. And now it's finally our turn.
Plans? Not much. We're staying home, enjoying the absence of a schedule, and making a list of activities to see/do around the area. This is kind of our last chance, you know. We are in the mid-80's this week and I know this will be our last chance to get out and comfortably enjoy some of the sights around town before the heat of summer hits us.
On our list:
Hike at Valley of Fire, dye Easter eggs (outside), and get snowcones at Purple Penguin
Spring cleaning of all the bedrooms, visit the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort, and an assisted living home.
There's the fish stick challenge -- Conner wants to eat an entire bag of fish sticks in one sitting. I'll let you know how it goes.
See the spring gardens & fountains at the Bellagio & eat a crepe at Jean Phillippe Patisserie . . . and maybe stop by the new Linq
Make frosted sugar cookie bars like these and perform an Egg Drop experiment off the balcony.
A few fun activities away from home, some stuff to do at home, and a lot of relaxing in between. Sounds like a great vacation plan to me.
