Photos of fall colors & leaves, pumpkins, and foggy mornings have been popping up more and more on my social media feeds. I love seeing these photos, but there is definitely a disconnect for those of us living in the desert.
Wait, whoa . . . . fall? That's a thing right now?
As I'm sitting here in shorts and a forecast of 90, fall is not in sight quite yet. But it's the month of Halloween and soon to be Thanksgiving and I don't want the "season" to pass me by. As we roll into our 3rd fall in Vegas I have learned that I have to actively make fall happen, and surround myself with reminders of it because honestly, it's not going to happen on it's own.
Fall Bucket List
put up the fall decor - check!
make cheesecloth ghosts
go to the ward Trunk-or-Treat
get pumpkins for the front porch
carve pumpkins
find some leaves to crunch
look through my Halloween Memories Album
make mummy meatloaf
go to the school fall festival
wear my black & orange striped tights
order another fall star from Piggy & Dirt
sit on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate and watch our fall photo slideshow (one of the best things I ever did was set up a Fall photo album in iPhoto which I can play as a screen saver on our big tv through AppleTV)
go looking for fall!! -- Last October we went to Zion National Park and it was just what I needed. Maybe this year we can take a little drive up to Mt. Charleston.
