It is time for part 2 of Anna's Night Owl Party. Last time I shared all about the invitations and decorations. Today I want to talk about the favors and food!
Favors are one of my very favorite things about a throwing a party. Pulling together a few small items around a theme is always a fun, creative challenge. When I have guests over for a party I want to make sure they go away with a small token that lets them know I truly appreciated them for coming. I also want the favors to be as meaningful and useful as possible.
I decided to make some very simple drawstring bags to hold the party goodies. Once again this night owl fabric came in super handy with the perfect amount of cute.
Inside each bag the girls received a pair of owl knee high socks (a major score at Target!), a few bracelets tied together with baker's twine, and a couple mini Hershey bars. Just a few simple things that the girls would enjoy.
Anna really enjoyed handing these out to her friends as they left at the end of the night.
Because our party started at 5:30pm, food was a very important element of the night. The girls were hungry! I picked up a few pizzas and prepared a spread of food to go along with it. We ate dinner at the beginning of the party and then I left the food out all night for snacking.
A big fruit salad and a platter of carrots & cucumbers were a hit with the girls. I was happy to see that they love to eat healthy! That being said, I had to throw in some chips as well. I figured out how to make Cheetos look cute by serving them in these adorable french fry containers!
My favorite part of the food, though, has to be the cupcakes. Could anything possibly be any cuter?
And talk about the easiest decorating job ever! Split open an Oreo and add a few Reese's Pieces for eyes and beak. For someone who is cake-decorating challenged, this is right up my alley.
With the food ready to go and our pajamas on we are ready for guests to arrive and the party to start! Stay tuned for part 3 - Party Activities!
