This was Anna's first trip on an airplane. Here she is sitting in the airport. She did fairly well on the flight -- just started fussing during the descent.
my mom working in the kitchen. Lately I'm liking this photo technique -- most everything still with some movement in the background.
The colors for the party were pink and orange. My mom put together these great table settings with some floral tin plates she found online. In the background on the buffet table are little boxes that everyone got to take home with them.
Anna in her party dress. She was such a cutie and enjoyed all the attention of being passed all around the room.
Here are some of the scrapbook pages the ladies made. It was a new experience for many of them -- especially to make a scrapbook page about themselves. I think everyone enjoyed it, and the pages turned out great.
These were gift boxes I put together the night before. The premise of the party was to bring along someone who was special to you -- mom, daughter, friend, etc. So on the invitations my mom listed the option that you could purchase a gift for your special person -- the boxes included a candle and a bracelet.
Salmon, spinach salad, fruit kabobs, chicken salad in a puff pastry shell, and creme puffs for dessert.
So my dad played with Anna during most of the party. But he was also in charge of cooking the salmon on the BBQ. At one point he was holding her and as he opened the BBQ a big cloud of smoke came out. For the rest of the day Anna smelled like BBQ -- it was pretty strong and quite a funny smell to be coming from a cute little girl.
Anna looked so cute in her party dress. Later that afternoon I was holding her and noticed a tag pop out the front. I looked at it, and then looked at the back of the dress and finally realized the dress was on backwards! No one had even noticed -- not even my mom who dressed her. We laughed and turned things around, but even then we decided it was cuter backwards. So that's probably how she'll always wear it -- just don't tell anyone.
At the end of the day I realized I had been behind the camera all day. So I asked my mom to snap one of me so we could have proof that I was there!
The whole group at Bubba Gump's. We got a great table by the window and enjoyed hush puppies for our appetizer.
It's just not a trip to the beach if you don't bring a shovel with you and dig a giant hole. I'm not sure why, but that's kind of our family's thing. Being the girl in the family, though, I left all the digging up to the boys. Mason was the hole digger on this trip.
anna looks pretty happy on the beach. She's also trying to gasp for air between the wind gusts. We've spent the past 6 months in hibernation. It's going to take her a while to get accustomed to the outdoors for sure.
